Nominations are invited for the inaugural 2018 IFME International Excellence Awards in Municipal Engineering
The Awards will be presented at the 19th Triennial World Congress on Municipal Engineering. The World Congress is being held in association with the American Public Works Association (APWA) PWX Public Works Expo in Kansas City, USA from 26-29 August 2018.
Municipal engineering provides the infrastructure and services that supports the way of life of a local or regional community. Municipal infrastructure can include roads, streets, and related transport issues, water supply, sewers and drainage, solid waste management, street lighting, bridges, public parks and open space, community and recreational facilities.
A key objective of the International Federation of Municipal Engineering (IFME) is to foster technical and cultural exchange between municipal and public works engineers worldwide. International exchange of information, innovations, skills and experience is critical in today's global world.
The IFME Excellence Awards are designed to honour excellence in the field of International Municipal Engineering in two categories:
- International Municipal Engineering Leadership that facilitates the international sharing and exchange of knowledge, information, skills and experience to create positive and innovative change for the municipal engineering profession
- International Project of the Year that best delivers outstanding community outcomes and improved service standards for the community and positive impacts for society
IFME invites you or your association to take this opportunity to recognise individuals and organizations for their outstanding contribution and success in international municipal engineering.
Submissions should address the Award Criteria and be made in accordance with the Award Guidelines.

Closing Date for Submissions to be received by the Secretary General is now extended to Thursday 31st May 2018 (midnight GMT).
Note: The project must have been completed no more than 3 years before the application deadline, i.e., 31st May 2015.
