A key event of the celebrations of World Engineering Day 4th March 2022 is a global hackathon for engineering students. This is a great opportunity for engineering educators to showcase the abilities of their students. The challenges for the Hackathon are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the judging criteria is aligned with the International Engineering Alliance Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies (GAPC) Framework. By participating in the Hackathon, students will be able to demonstrate their achievement the desired outcomes of the GAPC Framework such as being able to research a topic, critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, working inclusively in teams, communication, use of information technology tools and development of an engineering solution that when implemented would advance one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. 8-10 finalists will be invited to produce a short video of their solutions and showcased in a global virtual event on 4th March 2022 etc. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the achievements of your students to a global audience.
The information on the Hackathon is available at this link: worldengineeringday.net/hackathon Please circulate to your university engineering facilities to promote to all engineering students Thanks in anticipation of your support for this important global engineering event.
