A huge audience was present, 2000 engineers on spot and 2000 joined online. The convention was visited by the Vice-President of the Republic of Kenya, Mr. Rigathi Gachagua. The conference was held in PridInn in Mombasa in the south-east of Kenya. The keynote on behalf of Stadswerk and IFME by Pieter was not only about Green Cities, water, climate adaptation and the urban and civil engineering aspects, but also about the next triennial conference of the IFME, Future Green Cities, organised together with Stadswerk and World Urban Parks next year September in Utrecht, The Netherlands (www.fgc2024.com).
Pieter was warmly welcomed by the Kenyan organisation and their representatives, eng. Erick Ohaga, their President and eng. Shammah Kiteme (SG).
The IEK is interested in IFME, in cooperation and to see what added value we can provide to our common members, international as well as Kenyan members.
IFME will continue to meet with the representatives of IEK and IFME.
