By Priyani de Silva-Currie posted 29-06-2024 17:30

Welcome to our first IFME Podcast hosted by Kirsti Kierulf.   In this podcast we bring you great insights into a new school project utilising innovative energy solutions for energy efficiency in design and usage.  You will meet Morten Marøy, who is the project leader in Trondheim Kommune, Norway’s third largest city.

Morten will share his insights into how a joint energy system for Nidarvoll and Sunnland schools was developed, rebuilding an old school into a new school with innovative energy solutions. You might think that a country like Norway, with surplus of energy, this is not a priority, but let yourself be inspired by how Morten and his team are driven by United National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their sustainability targets for the municipality, translated into a real school project.

We know Morten is one of many thousands of innovative municipal engineers around the world. Our goal with these podcasts is to bring these short stories to you, in a format you can listen to on the bus, or as you are out walking, in your own time, and at your convenience.

If you want to share your story, do not hesitate to contact us, and we will reach out for a short brief to understand if we can in a podcast format, to share your story with the world.

Have a good 13 minutes listening experience!

Warmest regards Kirsti (your host)

Technical information: This podcast was recorded using MS Teams. We have used automatic translation which is not 100% accurate, turning Morten to Martin and Trondheim to an undistinguishable place.  Our intention is to keep these podcasts being developed quickly with real stories, and these will not always be perfectly produced. As your host I am keen to meet as many people as possible, and talk to them, sharing their knowledge and experiences through our IFME channels.
