A must do: Future Green City | Utrecht | Netherlands | Sept 2024
Future Green City World Congress in Utrecht unites the worlds of green and civil engineering for a liveable city with a future
The city with a future is green. This is the key topic on the agenda during the Future Green City World Congress from 23 to 26 September 2024 at the Beatrix Theatre in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Urban areas are under increasing pressure. More and more people are moving to cities to live and work. This raises questions about housing, a growing pressure on urban infrastructure, but also about the liveability of cities for their inhabitants.
Green is the answer to almost all the urgent challenges our growing cities and urban regions face. Green makes you healthy, happy, it cools, purifies, provides renewable building materials and food, and offers a natural habitat for all kinds of people and animals.
The challenge lies in how we manage the available urban space. It requires efficient and innovative use of space. All over the world, wonderful initiatives and showcases in urban transformations are emerging. There is an enormous amount of knowledge and power available to provide answers to the challenges ahead. Power that arises when the worlds of green and civil engineering join forces and make a difference together. A necessary collaboration to green limited space. It is high time to talk with each other on tackling these challenges instead of talking about them.
A green city is essential for a healthy living environment. Collaboration between 'infra' and 'green' is important because these worlds work together in public spaces and can significantly reinforce each other. Innovations from these worlds will be presented to visitors for four days during the Future Green City World Congress.
From 23 to 26 September 2024, Utrecht will transform into the global epicentre for liveable green cities with a future. For four days, thinkers and doers from the worlds of construction, green, infrastructure and water will gather at the Beatrix Theatre in Utrecht to inspire and meet each other during the Future Green City World Congress. Together, they form a catalyst in realising green transitions for cities.
