Spreading the word on holistic asset management
Ville Alatyppö is Vice President and the incoming IFME President for 2024-2027.
In late 2008, Ville was working for the City of Helsinki when the Finnish capital experienced a series of unprecedented snow storms which threatened to paralyse daily life. His experience led him to a more holistic approach to asset management, emphasizing the importance of maintenance and long-term environmental thinking.
As incoming President, Ville will focus on collaborating with engineers worldwide to address climate change, budget constraints, and aging infrastructure. He is also keen to improve communication among civil engineers.
